Jewellery Care

Jewellery Care

To take the best care of your beloved pieces and help them keep their shine and integrity, there are a few key things to remember that may not seem so obvious. Such as remembering that precious metals are generally softer than everyday metals, such as kitchen appliances or work tools such as chisels. Gold, silver, and even platinum are susceptible to scratching and even deforming their shape if care is not taken.

Steps:

-When working with your hands, remember to remove your rings if you want to avoid Scratches and marks. It is even more important to remove fine rings such as engagement rings or stacking rings when lifting heavy objects, as the pressure put on the ring between the finger and what is being lifted could deform the shape, giving it a more egg-like appearance.

-When washing hands, rings should be removed to avoid scratching them and also to let the skin under your rings dry properly.
-To clean your jewellery, a soft toothbrush and some warm soapy water can be used to remove dead skin, skin care product build-up, and other foreign matter that has accumulated in and around your pieces.
-Pieces can also be brought to a jeweller to be profesionally cleaned.
